Bridget Twedt

Hi, I'm Bridget

I specialize in helping runners and active adults stay active, as well as treating dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders.

As a runner and physical therapist, I understand both the joy of pursuing athletic goals and the frustration that comes when pain gets in the way.

My approach combines one-on-one care, clinical expertise, and a deep understanding of movement to help you get back to doing what matters to you – and keep doing it.

Your Experience at High Road PT

One-hour, one-on-one care
Every session is one hour, one-on-one with me, Bridget, a Doctor of Physical Therapy. You’ll never be passed off to an aide or assistant. This gives me the time to truly understand your story, identify the root cause of your symptoms, and create a treatment plan tailored to your goals.

I understand what it’s like to be injured
As a runner and athlete who has undergone five knee surgeries, I know how frustrating it is when pain keeps you from doing what you love. My goal is to help you return with confidence, and to build the strength and resilience to stay there.

Recovery is just the beginning.
I don’t believe that rehab is just about returning to where you were before. My focus is to help you move better, perform better, and reduce your risk of future injuries so you can stay active for years to come.

For Runners

From staying healthy and improving your running mechanics to training for your next goal, I offer specialized services designed for runners.

Bridget is the absolute best PT!!! I thought I'd never get a diagnosis of what was wrong with my left lower back. I used to run a lot, raced every other weekend with NYRR, was a part of a running team in NYC. I injured my left lower back in 2018, was initially diagnosed with SI joint dysfunction by initial PTs, my left back would improve and then worsen through the years. Fast forward 2 pregnancies and a very weak pelvic floor, my left back was worse off than ever. I saw Bridget earlier this year and said I just want to walk without pain, that was my goal. Running seemed impossible at that point. Bridget assessed me, and I actually did not have SIJ dysfunction, and it was a myriad of other things. I finally found some time to consistently work out, and now I'm slowly getting back into running. My back doesn't hurt anymore. I'm learning more about my body now. It's kind of a miracle. Thank you Bridget!

Bridget has treated me for two running injuries, one being a persistent Achilles injury. Bridget is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and hands on. She was able to get me through two marathons successfully, including a BQ! I would never had made it to the start line at these races without her care and support. I like that Bridget is always studying and learning new methods, including dry needling which really helped my Achilles. Bridget is a Boston marathoner herself, and a former college athlete, so she really understands athletic injuries and the strong desire to stay out on the course! I truly thank her and highly recommend!

I called Bridget while suffering from my first, terrifying episode of BPPV and she made time to see me that same day to successfully treat my vertigo. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and skilled. I now see her for compressed cervical vertebrae and she has given me such relief from my neck pain.

Working with Bridget has been amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable and talented in her field. The progress we have made didn't seem possible 9 months ago but the increase in stamina, strength and flexibility is REAL!!!!

I wanted to get back into running and foolishly found myself signed up for a marathon. Not too long afterwards, I was facing pain and possible surgery for a torn meniscus. I started working with Bridget at HRPT and she was encouraging without shaming. She was the best cheerleader and got me running again. I no longer experience knee pain and I avoided surgery due to the strengthening she helped me with. I finished the marathon and will forever be thankful for the support I received from her as well as meeting and working with a really cool person. I highly recommend her to all who need PT help, she is amazing.
